Human Resources and Diversity Advisor

£38,000 to £40,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Full-time (40 hours per week), permanent contract

The Royal Opera House aims to enrich people`s lives through opera and ballet. We seek to be always accessible and engaging, to develop new audiences and to break new ground in the presentation of lyric theatre. We are now looking for an experienced HR and Diversity Advisor to provide professional advice and solutions as part of the Human Resources management team. This exciting new role will also support the development and delivery of the ROH Diversity and Inclusion Strategy, managing a number of initiatives to help us recruit a more diverse workforce and further the development of an inclusive culture.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Supporting managers on the full range of HR issues, ensuring consistency of approach and correct application of employment legislation, ROH policies and procedures and terms and conditions of employment.
  • Managing the recruitment, selection and appointment of new staff.
  • Ensuring that our employment opportunities are visible and attractive to the widest possible talent pool through development of the ROH employer brand and innovative recruitment and selection processes.
  • Developing new initiatives to create entry-level employment opportunities (internships, traineeships, etc.) and promoting these through diversity networks.
  • Leading on regular reporting and reflection on the effectiveness of diversity recruitment initiatives.
  • The ideal candidate for this role will be a strong team player who is able to demonstrate:

  • A minimum of Associate CIPD membership, or able to demonstrate the equivalent level of skill and experience.
  • Significant experience of managing recruitment and selection.
  • Proven experience and commitment to promoting diversity and inclusion.
  • Excellent influencing skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people within and outside the organization.
  • Strong numeracy with experience of analyzing and reporting on complex data.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
