Casual Work - Costume Technicians


The Costume Department at the Royal Opera House maintains a list of individuals who may be offered work on a casual basis and we are currently looking to increase our number of Casual Costume Technicians.

Applications are invited from those with prior experience in running wardrobe, and who possess:

  • Comprehensive experience of dressing a wide variety of artists including principal artists, actors, singers, dancers and children.
  • Proven experience in costume maintenance procedures including a thorough knowledge of fabrics, laundering and cleaning practices.
  • Experience in preparing and assisting with fittings and taking alteration notes.
  • A sound background in the execution of basic alterations and repairs to costume and costume accessories.
  • Excellent team work and communication skills.
