Video Engineer

The Royal Opera House produces some of the best opera and ballet in the world.

We are seeking to appoint to the role of Video Engineer, to work within the Sound and Broadcast team to operate and maintain ROH video and projection equipment, associated media servers and infrastructure for performance, rehearsal and related projects, including big screens and touring. The sound and broadcast facility includes a sophisticated digital SD/HD multi-format broadcast and recording facility, with associated technical, audio and off-site connectivity equipment. The facility is used for productions and transmissions for TV, video, in-house archive, radio, DVDs and other recordings.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • A track record in video and projection with experience of a major establishment including opera and ballet productions.
  • The ability to deliver video media requirements for ROH productions to the highest standards in house, on tour or on hire.
  • The ability to work to a brief across all audio, visual and media acquisition and delivery platforms.
  • Experience of acting as technical trouble-shooter for successful performance, rehearsal or media event.
  • The drive and expertise to maintain up to date knowledge of developments of servers, projectors and associated equipment.
  • A high standard of service delivery and use of resources to demonstrate best practice standards and efficient use of resources.
