Senior Producer, Learning and Participation


£38,000 per annum, permanent contract

Full-time (5 out of 7 days (40 hours) per week)

At the Royal Opera House we want many more people to enjoy and engage in exceptional ballet and opera. In September 2018 we launch our new Open Up project, making the Royal Opera House even more welcoming and accessible to new and existing visitors, especially during the day.

As well as more open and light-filled spaces, we will have a new Linbury Theatre with state of the art technical facilities for mid-scale performances, and a new restaurant, caf and bar areas. We will be transforming our foyers into engaging public spaces, animated by inspiring activity and exhibitions to engage visitors with opera, ballet and the richness of the ROH story, past and present.

The Senior Producer will be responsible for producing Learning and Participation`s new programme of front of house activity including a weekly programme of workshops, informal performances and events for `early years`, families, schools, young people, adult learners, community groups and general visitors; festivals at key points in the year; and trails for independent visitors. Creative ideas will be developed by the Learning and Participation managers and colleagues in the Opera and Ballet companies, and this role will be responsible for their development and delivery.

Taking direction from the Director of Learning and Participation, the role has significant planning, managerial, financial responsibility as well as creative input and will be responsible for the launch and roll out of this new creative programme, ensuring that all events are of the highest quality, meet the needs of the target audiences and delivered efficiently and effectively

This role is based in Covent Garden and requires weekend and evening work.
