Stage Technician (Flys Bias)

6 month Fixed Term Contract

Grade 3 (£39,318 per annum)

The Royal Opera House produces some of the best opera and ballet in the world. Our Technical Department plays a leading part in ensuring our performances are of the highest quality by delivering technical excellence for every performance and rehearsal.

We currently have fixed term contract vacancies for experienced Stage Flys Technicians. Ideal candidates will have:

  • A strong technical track record in running live theatre rehearsals and performances establishments primarily for the staging of opera and ballet productions
  • Demonstrable experience in all key technical areas, particularly: power flying systems, rigging of scenery, LOLER, winches and point hoists.
  • Strong communication skills to ensure effective interactions at all levels.
  • A positive team player attitude.

In addition, any professional electrical, mechanical, carpentry or computer skills would be advantageous for this position. Awareness of Health and Safety legislation is desirable, and appropriate Health and Safety training is provided.
