Human Resources and Training Administrator

£23,000 per annum, full-time (40 hours per week)

At the Royal Opera House we want many more people to enjoy and engage in exceptional ballet and opera. We have a diverse team of over one thousand employees - working in artistic, technical, craft, administrative and customer service roles - and are now looking for an experienced Administrator to join our busy Human Resources team.

The HR and Training Administrator provides proactive administrative and logistical support, with particular responsibility for supporting recruitment administration, training and the work experience programme.

This role will provide an excellent opportunity to build on your HR experience and you will be encouraged and supported to actively further your professional development.

The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Providing proactive administrative support to recruitment and selection processes (arranging interviews, drafting offer letters and contracts, documentation checks, liaison with payroll, induction administration, etc.).
  • Providing practical support to staff training (arranging dates, booking rooms, scheduling attendees, booking refreshments, issuing joining instructions, liaising with and supporting training providers, arranging technical equipment, etc.).
  • Being the first point of contact for enquiries and providing excellent customer service by phone, face-to-face or by email, dealing with routine queries and taking and forwarding messages.
  • Updating staff records and maintaining confidential filing and information systems.
  • Responding to work experience applicant enquiries in a prompt and efficient manner, supporting the work experience recruitment process.

We would love to hear from you if you have:

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills, with experience of training support and/or recruitment administration in a busy environment.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation.
  • Strong communication skills with a high standard of verbal and written English.
  • Ability to prioritise own workload and to work unsupervised under pressure, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Strong IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to work to own initiative.

Familiarity with HR databases and e-recruitment systems would be an advantage.
