The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance live on stage at our heritage theatre site in Covent Garden, and reaching out to audiences across the UK and worldwide with our cinema screenings and content through other digital platforms. Our Technology team service a broad range of requirements across all departments of the organisation and a number of business critical systems, from customer facing and marketing to scheduling and finance.

We are now looking for a Technology Project Manager to join our Technology Programme Management team.Working to priorities set by the Head of Technology Programmes, you will work on a portfolio of projects, working collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders around the organisation. We are currently working on delivery of a number of key projects and the relaunch of our website, planned for this autumn, when our heritage site in Covent Garden opens its doors following the Open Up project. The post is offered as a fixed term contract for 6 months, with the option of a further 6 months. Part time working will be considered.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced team player with these qualities:

  • Current project management certification, Prince 2 practitioner, Agile Project Management or equivalent
  • Ability to create and deliver work plans using appropriate tools: able to work in both Agile and Waterfall environments as appropriate for a specific project
  • Ability to provide credible leadership to development and project teams and to be able to evaluate complex project risks and issues
  • Highly proficient MS Office suite user with strong awareness of technology trends and best practice
  • Strong experience of business change management and delivering positive change through critical thinking and problem solving
  • Commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
