The Royal Opera House offers world-class opera, ballet, music and dance live on stage at our iconic theatre in Covent Garden, and reaches out to audiences across the UK and beyond through ROH Cinema and digital content on other platforms. It is also a charity and we could not maintain our extensive programme of artistic work, or our community and outreach projects, without the support of our philanthropists and members. The Development and Enterprises Department is looking for an experienced Administrator to join our Philanthropy team on a permanent basis. Reporting to the Head of Philanthropy and two Senior Philanthropy Managers, this role will provide a comprehensive diary and administration service to the senior team. In addition, in this role you will have the opportunity to learn more about philanthropy and support a portfolio of events and other projects, contributing to the success of the team.

The ideal candidate profile will be an experienced team player, with these qualities:

  • Strong administration experience within a busy environment, with first-class office skills and experience of complex diary management
  • Excellent face-to-face and telephone communication skills, including the ability to deal with senior level business people and philanthropists in a professional and personable manner
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills and a highly proficient Microsoft Office user, including Word, Excel and database skills
  • Good documentation preparation skills and clear and concise writing style with experience of taking minutes
  • Ability to plan and prioritise effectively and meet deadlines, and able to deliver consistently to a busy workload
  • Willingness to learn about the team`s activities and commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
