Learning and Participation Project Assistant


£16,972 per annum (£21,216 Full-time equivalent)

Part-time (4 out of 7 days (32 hours) per week)

2 year Fixed Term Contract

The purpose of ROH Learning and Participation is to encourage participation and deepen learning for a wide and diverse audience. We offer people of all ages the chance to discover and question our art forms and to create their own responses to opera and ballet.

Reporting to one of the Learning and Participation Senior Producer, responsibilities will include:

  • Providing administrative and practical support to the Learning and Participation Managers and Officers, and for specified projects, to ensure the smooth running of programmed activities.
  • Assisting with project planning, scheduling and evaluation.
  • Compiling and updating contact lists and participant information.
  • Acting as one of the first line contacts for Royal Opera House staff and outside callers.
  • Preparing information packs and resource material, both written and audio visual as required.
  • Managing room bookings and preparing equipment and resources for on-the-day activities as required.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to bring their current administrative experience and skills to one of the UK`s busiest theatres.

The successful candidate will be a proactive team player able to demonstrate:

  • Some previous experience of arts learning and participation.
  • Strong organisational skills with experience of working on projects
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills
  • Ability to meet deadlines and prioritise own workload
  • Ability to work unsupervised and with accuracy on delegated administrative tasks.
  • Good interpersonal skills with the ability to work with a range of people.

This role is a part time role based in Covent Garden working 4 days per week.
