Thurrock Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP) Co-ordinator - Freelance

Royal Opera House Thurrock`s Learning and Participation programme aims to inspire, support and develop the learning and creativity of people of all ages through their engagement with the Royal Opera House and to enrich the cultural life of the local community in Thurrock. Central to ROH Thurrock`s work is the school`s Cultural Entitlement programme, Thurrock Trailblazer.

Through the Thurrock Trailblazer programme, ROH Thurrock Learning & Participation and Thurrock Council aspire to support a programme of arts and cultural learning, co-created with schools, for schools. The Thurrock Local Cultural Education Partnership (LCEP) is the means to drive forward this aspiration as a strategic plan for the Borough, aligning with the ambition set out in the Thurrock Cultural Strategy. The Steering group wish to appoint a co-ordinator to support the set-up phase of the Thurrock LCEP.

The co-ordinator will work closely with the Royal Opera House Bridge and Trailblazer teams to develop a strategic plan and secure partnership investment for Thurrock LCEP.

The Co-ordinator will:

  • manage project proposals for Thurrock LCEP Pathfinder Projects (TLPP),
  • identify and set up working groups as agreed by the steering group
  • provide administrative support for the steering group, drafting and circulating key documents.
  • convene and chair LCEP sub-group meetings
  • support planning and writing of a stage one application for Partnership Investment, ready for February 2019, and if successful, support the steering group to develop a full application, for submission in May 2019
  • work with Thurrock Council to identify sources of match funding for Partnership Investment and prepare funding bids
  • By July 2019, support the drafting and finalising of a model for the next phase of LCEP

Most activity will be completed in Thurrock, with occasional visits to the ROH Thurrock office in Purfleet and/or Covent Garden, as well as some work from home. A tailored induction to ROH Thurrock work will be provided.
