Artistic Administrator, The Royal Opera


The Royal Opera House produces the best opera and ballet in the world and is seeking to appoint to the role of Artistic Administrator for the Royal Opera.

This key new role within the Opera Company will work with the Casting Director, particularly in relation to scheduling, contracting and in the overseeing of day-to-day casting matters. In consultation with the Casting Director and Administrative Director negotiate artists terms of engagement and be actively involved in identifying and developing a diverse pool of future talent.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • Experience within an Opera Company at a major international house.
  • Wide knowledge of opera repertory, artists agents and artists of international standing.
  • A thorough understanding of the process of long term scheduling process for a major international house, how it relates to international casting and the need to create financially balanced seasons.
  • Understanding of needs of performers and ability to instil confidence and gain trust.
