Actors for production of The Firebird with The Royal Ballet

Short term contract: c.1 month from mid-May 2019

The Royal Ballet, one of the leading classical ballet companies in the world, will be presenting The Firebird, on the main stage at the Royal Opera House, Covent Garden. Rehearsal and performance dates run for c. 1 month from mid-May 2019.

We are looking for 36 actors, 27 who are male, or of male appearance, and 9 who are female, or of female appearance, to join the cast of The Firebird. It is a requirement of the contract to attend each scheduled call for costume fittings, rehearsals and performances. Payment is based on a three hour session, plus holiday pay, and provision for overtime if required.

Successful applicants will be able to demonstrate these qualities:

-Proven experience as an actor in ballet, or similar large scale theatre productions

-Ability to follow movement instructions for a given role and as choreographed for the production

-Musicality and ability to follow musical cues

-The highest standards of attendance, reliability and professionalism with availability for rehearsals and performances on set dates

-Ability to work under direction and to respond in a positive way to feedback

-Demonstrated capacity for effective teamwork and harmonious working relationships
