Job title:
Senior HR Business Partner

Competitive salary dependent on skills and experience; available upon request

Full-time, 40 hours per week

Permanent Contract

As the home of two of the world’s most renowned performing companies, the Royal Ballet and Opera has a commitment to enrich people’s lives and promote the wider interests of cultural learning as a resource for the nation.

We are now seeking an experienced and passionate HR practitioner who will join us at an exciting time of brand positioning and growth as an organisation. This is a senior strategic HR Business Partner role working to support internal customers with a full range of HR interventions. This leadership position will work with designated leaders, stakeholders and colleagues to develop a whole system approach to all aspects of human resources management, practice and reporting, advocating for HR best practice and being on hand to offer suitable advice and guidance to all those who engage with the department.

The successful candidate will be a team player, with the ability to support a range of employees across the organisation, lead by example, and help mentor staff within the HR Department. They will be able to evidence the following:

  • Significant Human Resources Business Partner experience in a leadership role across an appropriately sized and complex organisation with Chartered-level membership of the CIPD or equivalent experience
  • A demonstrable commitment to the principles of diversity and inclusion and experience of their practical application and integration in the work environment
  • A clear track record of developing and delivering progressive Human Resources strategies that have resulted in proven step change improvements in delivery
  • Experience of working effectively and collaboratively as a member of a leadership team, with the ability to establish professional credibility quickly with colleagues, and to interact effectively with staff at all levels and across all departments
  • An adaptable, collaborative and persuasive leadership style and approach that will inspire the trust and commitment of others, with strong communication, negotiation and influencing skills

We value the impact diversity can have on our workforce. Experience in the arts/cultural sector is not a pre-requisite but a clear passion for the organisation's commitment to enrich people’s lives and promote the wider interests of cultural learning, ballet, dance, opera, music and the arts in general, would be highly regarded.

As an employer, we are committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment in which everyone can thrive. We particularly welcome applications from those who are from a global majority background and/or those who are disabled, as they are under-represented within our organisation.  As a Disability Confident Employer, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the essential minimum criteria for our vacancies.
