The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms. Based at our iconic heritage site in Covent Garden, the RBO Shop is open to our visitors and customers daily from midday. In addition, many of our customers are shopping online, and we continue to see a growing interest in the Online Shop.

We are now looking for a Retail Assistant, Online Shop to support the Retail team across the busy Winter season. In this role you will work alongside the Retail team completing the whole process for picking, packing and dispatch of orders (which is particularly busy over the Christmas period), paying attention to accuracy of the order fulfilment, and delivering an excellent service for our on-line and phone shoppers.

To apply, ideally you must have availability over the key Christmas period and to work a variable shift pattern from Monday - Sunday including some evenings and weekends. Training in our systems and procedures will be provided and you will need to gain sufficient knowledge of our product range and stock management systems fairly quickly.

The successful candidatewill be an experienced team player, able to demonstrate:

  • Some experience of fulfilment for on-line sales
  • Ability to make an effective contribution as part of a small team for order fulfilment for online or phone customers
  • Numeracy and accuracy in order monitoring, order processing and stock taking
  • Confident, helpful manner and consistent high level of customer care and service
  • Ability to manage own time effectively and use initiative in an exceptionally busy customer facing role

Due to the short nature of this contract and the volume of orders that will need to be fulfilled, prior experience in a similar role will be highly regarded.
