Our Technical, Production and Costume Department plays a leading part in ensuring our performances are of the highest quality by delivering technical excellence for every performance, rehearsal and event.

Our Lighting Department is committed to delivering artistic concepts and exceptional live performances whilst considering the impact of our work on the environment and sustainability. The Department is split into 4 specialist divisions; Production Lighting, Lighting Control and Visualisation, Follow Spots and Lighting Systems.

Following recent internal promotions, the lighting department are now seeking to appoint two Production Lighting Technicians who will effectively contribute to the smooth running of productions end-to-end, including rehearsals, performances and fit ups across a flexible weekly rota.

Our ideal candidates will be passionate professionals who are looking to further develop their lighting careers in a live performance environment. Knowledge of opera and ballet is not a requirement but the willingness and drive to learn are. Successful candidates will be able to demonstrate:

  • A good level of technical experience in theatrical lighting (previous work in a producing theatre will be highly regarded)
  • An understanding of legislation and best practice in relation to the role, such as Health and Safety, CDM2015 and BS7909.
  • A broad range of technical skills and understanding of the requirements of other technical teams and departments within a live performance environment.
  • A collaborative spirit, strong communication skills, and the ability to work as part of a technical team.
  • The ability to work independently and show initiative when problem solving.
