The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. We aim to share these life-changing artforms with as many people as we can, working to enrich the cultural life of the nation by growing the public enjoyment and appreciation of exceptional ballet and opera.
The Audiences & Commercial division generates significant income for the Royal Ballet and Opera, including: box office, brand partnerships, retail and catering. The teams in the division include Marketing & Communications, Creative Studios and Production, Digital and Commercial (brand partnerships, retail and catering). It is a growth-oriented division, investing to generate significant new revenues, which therefore needs strong financial partnership and support.
We are now seeking an experienced and dynamic Senior Finance Business Partner to provide support for the Audiences and Commercial division, including day to day financial analysis and reporting, support for longer term strategic planning, review of progress against strategic objectives and general finance support.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and curious person who can develop areas of specialist knowledge or expertise as needed for the business. With strong communication and leadership skills, they will be adept at working as part of a multidisciplinary team and able to communicate effectively at all levels within an organisation.
The successful candidate will also be able to demonstrate the following:
- Substantial accounting experience in a busy, tightly managed business, including: monthly reporting, budget preparation and financial modelling
- Proven experience in a similar capacity working on commercial activities.
- Qualification from one of the CCAB-recognised Accountancy bodies or equivalent (ACCA, CIMA, ACA etc.)
- Experience of managing preparation of monthly management reports and delivery of sound financial analysis, with a focus on accessible and robust financial advice to non-literate professionals.
- A good track record in delivering accurate, high-quality work and regular management information reports to deadlines and to required standards.
- Extensive experience of computerised accounting systems as well as strong spreadsheet manipulation skills and advanced Excel work.
