Job title:
Audience Data Analyst

Permanent; full time
Up to £40,000 per annum based on skills and experience
Based in: Covent Garden, London

The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. Our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries. We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.

The Royal Opera House describes the place we work, not who we are. The whole is always more than the sum of its parts - we may be a House, but three quarters of our audience experience what we do outside this building. While our Covent Garden theatre is the nerve centre, the impact and influence of the organisation can be felt in every corner of the country, and around the world. Understanding our global audience (their behaviours, preferences and habits) is central to our mission to engage more people with our art forms through programming and commercial development, as well as reporting accurately to our funders and supporters.

We are now seeking to recruit an Audience Data Analyst into our Digital Product and Analytics Team. This role will focus on delivering high quality data analysis to provide robust reporting and build holistic understanding of RBO audiences and sales. The role will also communicate clear, compelling and insightful recommendations to stakeholders across the organisation, enabling them to make strategic, evidence-based decisions.

The ideal candidate will have an analytical mind, with the ability to operate independently to agreed deadlines, producing high quality and accurate work. They will be able to contribute to the output of a multi-functional and collaborative team, working with a range of specialists across UX and CX Research, Digital Analysis, Pricing, Ticketing and Product Development.

They will be able to evidence:

  • Experience working with SQL databases and proficiency at choosing, manipulating and analysing data to generate insights
  • Experience creating insightful data visualisations, reports and dashboards
  • The ability to present analysis and visualisations that communicate clear and compelling stories from complex data analysis
  • The ability to work effectively with stakeholders to translate strategies and research questions into suitable data briefs
  • Strong planning and time-management skills, with the ability to manage priorities and work proactively to deliver timely, high-quality outputs

An understanding of the below will be beneficial and highly regarded so please do reflect these in your application if you have:

  • Experience with CRM systems, particularly Tessitura and Tessitura Analytics
  • Experience working across multiple data sets
  • Experience using R to manipulate and analyse data

The Royal Ballet and Opera is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment in which everyone can thrive. We particularly welcome applications from those who are from a global majority background and/or those who are disabled, as they are under-represented within our organisation. As a Disability Confident Employer, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the essential minimum criteria for our vacancies.
