Full time; 40 hours per week including evenings and weekends for show duties and around the rehearsal and performance schedule

The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. Our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries. We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.

The Royal Opera are now seeking to appoint an Assistant Company Manager to provide effective support to the Company Manager of The Royal Opera, for all work, on site, off site and on tour, including liaising with all artists engaged by The Royal Opera. The Assistant Company Manager will assist with the administrative aspects of the day-to-day management of The Royal Opera and provide the highest level of care for guest artists working with The Royal Opera.

Our ideal candidate will be a strong team player with a pro-active attitude and the ability to prioritise and use own initiative as appropriate. They will be able to demonstrate:

  • Experience of supporting the constantly changing work of a busy office environment, ideally in the arts sector
  • Knowledge and interest in administration and production for the performing arts
  • Proven pastoral skills
  • Ability to deal with people at all levels in a confident and professional manner
  • Ability to react quickly to situations, to be reliable and resilient, to perform consistently under pressure and to respond positively to changing circumstances
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Spoken and written language skills in German, French and/or Italian is desirable
