The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music, and dance.

Our Audiences and Commercial Department plays a vital role in the success of the Royal Ballet and Opera, telling the story of the organisation and encouraging people to engage with us - whether by attending a performance, seeing a live screening at the cinema, streaming a performance online, or coming in to enjoy the shop, bars, and restaurants.

Based at our iconic heritage site in Covent Garden, the RBO Shop plays a critical part in providing exceptional customer experience to all its visitors.

The team are now looking for fantastic Retail Assistants to support the RBO team on a part-time basis (32 hours). To apply, you must be available to work a variable shift pattern including evenings, and weekends. Training in our systems and procedures will be provided, and you will need to gain sufficient knowledge of our product range fairly quickly.

The successful candidates will be experienced team players, able to demonstrate:

  • Retail experience with a proven ability to contribute to sales
  • Ability to make an effective contribution to a proactive sales environment in-store and for online order fulfilment
  • Confident, helpful manner and consistent high level of customer care and service
  • Ability to learn new procedures and a new till system and point of sale system
  • Numeracy and accuracy in card payments processing, reconciliation, order processing and stock taking
  • Team player and ability to support a strong team ethic
