The role:

The Royal Ballet and Opera is looking to recruit a Lighting Control & Visualisation Assistant Manager with a programming and documentation bias to join our Lighting Control and Visualisation team, working closely with colleagues to ensure operational and production requirements of rehearsals and performances are carried out to the highest possible standard of safety, efficiency and quality.

You will be working alongside some of the world`s leading lighting designers, programming and operating shows for world class opera and ballet productions at the Royal Ballet and Opera, with the opportunity to work both nationally and internationally. You will be working with the Lighting Control & Visualisation Manager to help lead a team of highly skilled programmers. You will have the opportunity to grow and manage your own areas of specialism to help provide first class service to the Royal Opera and Royal Ballet Companies and their visiting creative teams.

What you`ll bring:

You will be able to demonstrate:

  • An excellent track record in ETC Eos Family consoles (including Augment3D), gained from working with the latest technology on live performances or events. Current experience is essential.
  • The ability to use the lighting console to help create and recreate original lighting for Royal Ballet & Opera productions to the highest artistic and technical standards in house, at outside venues and on tour or on hire.
  • Good understanding of Lightwright, MLA & Vectorworks.
  • Proficient user of Capture.
  • Aptitude for developing and maintaining relevant procedures and documentation.
  • A positive leadership style, with the ability to manage conflict and seek resolution with a professional and positive approach.
  • Strong relationship management skills and a clear and proactive approach to communication.
