Job title:
Technology Project Manager

12-month fixed term contract, available for an immediate start
Full time; 40 hours per week
Up to £56,000 per annum dependent on skills and experience
Based on site at ROH Covent Garden

The Royal Ballet and Opera continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. Our Covent Garden theatre has been at the heart of London and British cultural life for three centuries. We are home to two world-class Companies: The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera.

The Royal Opera House describes the place we work, not who we are. The whole is always more than the sum of its parts - we may be a House, but three quarters of our audience experience what we do outside this building. While our Covent Garden theatre is the nerve centre, the impact and influence of the organisation can be felt in every corner of the country, and around the world. Keeping us connected to audiences across the world are our technology team, who enable us to do our jobs onsite by providing the network, infrastructure, security measures and systems for all departments to work effectively.

We are now looking for a Project Manager to join the busy and dynamic team, leading on the implementation of our upgraded scheduling system (Diese) and reporting to the Technology Delivery Manager. This role will suit a candidate with honed project management skills who can hit the ground running in a fast paced, changing environment. With strong communication skills and a proactive approach, the ideal candidate will be a team player who can demonstrate the following:

  • Current project management certification (Prince 2 practitioner, Agile Project Management or equivalent) teamed with a Technology, Digital, Project Management or relevant degree or equivalent level of experience.
  • Evidenced ability to create and deliver work plans using appropriate tools: able to work in Agile or Waterfall project environment.
  • Strong analytical, planning, and organisational skills with an ability to manage competing demands.
  • The ability to maintain project documentation and develop effective materials for training and communication with stakeholders and end users.
  • Strong experience of business change management and delivering positive change.
  • Developed stakeholder management and relationship management skills, with the ability to gain trust and influence others.

Previous experience of implementing similar corporate change projects will be highly regarded.

The Royal Ballet and Opera is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment in which everyone can thrive. We particularly welcome applications from those who are from a global majority background and/or those who are disabled, as they are under-represented within our organisation. As a Disability Confident Employer, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the essential minimum criteria for our vacancies.
