The role:

Our Technical, Production and Costume Department plays a leading part in ensuring our performances are of the highest quality by delivering technical excellence for every performance, rehearsal, and event.

We are seeking to recruit a Wigs Workroom Manager, to work with the Senior Manager in managing the team to deliver both new and revival productions, ensuring that all activities are carried out to the highest possible standards. This role will also be required to deputise for the Senior Manager in their absence, and provide effective leadership and management of staff.

What you`ll bring:

Our ideal candidate will have a positive leadership style and strong relationship management skills, who can evidence the following:

  • Higher national diploma or degree in Wigs and Make Up for the Performing Arts preferred, City and Guilds Hairdressing Diploma and Make-up course or equivalent.
  • Excellent professional experience in hair and make-up techniques for the theatre.
  • Extensive knowledge of the latest techniques, materials and products used for wig making, make-up looks, prosthetics and effects as well as historical period wig making and setting, hair qualities and suppliers.
  • Proven experience of managing teams and projects with consistent high production standards.
  • Strong relationship management skills and clear proactive communication, with the ability to manage conflict and seek resolution.
  • The ability to work effectively within given resources using effective planning skills and budget management.
