Special Projects Communications Officer


£27,000 per annum

The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings.

We are now looking for a Special Projects Communications Officer to join the Communications team, within our Audiences and Media department. Reporting to the Communications Manager, you will deliver communications campaigns on a range of special projects which further the Royal Opera House`s reputation as a national player and a sector leader in audience engagement and innovation. Projects will include the Cinema Live programme, World Ballet Day, our national learning programmes and Learning and Participation projects in-house and around Covent Garden. You will monitor and evaluate these campaigns in order to report back to key internal stakeholders. This is a good opportunity to build your own portfolio of projects in media relations. The role is offered on a permanent basis.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with these qualities:

  • Experience of working within a busy communications team
  • A track record of identifying, developing, and securing high profile media and publicity opportunities which meet strategic objectives
  • Experience of creating engaging and inspiring communications campaigns that reach new and existing audiences through a variety of different channels
  • Ability to collate analytical data and compile reporting data accurately; able to work on own initiative, with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines
  • Able to work to a brief and present information in a clear and concise manner
  • Commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
