The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming and social media to worldwide cinema screenings. The work of our Audiences and Media team focuses on growing the love, advocacy and demand for the art presented by the Royal Opera House, so that we can also grow our audience-generated revenues.

With the reopening of our theatre and planning for the new Season from September, we are now looking for two Engagement Content Producers to join the ROH Studios team. One post will focus on creating engaging content for our opera and music audiences and one post will focus on creating engaging content for our ballet and dance audiences. In each role you will work to the priorities set by the Lead for Engagement Content to deliver a range of content and reference materials drawing on your writing and editorial experience, and will build on your systems skills and your knowledge of our art forms and develop your subject matter expertise further.

The successful candidates will be collaborative team players, able to demonstrate:

  • Excellent journalistic writing skills with substantial experience writing and editing content about our art forms (either opera and music or ballet and dance) for print and web
  • Substantial print/online publishing and editorial experience
  • Ability and commitment to learning new software, systems and processes, including AdobeInDesign, cloud-based writing, editing and proofing systems
  • The ability to produce and commission engaging content drawing on a level of subject matter expertise (SME) in either opera and music orballet and dance and their cultural and historical contexts; the ability to develop this SME further
  • Experience of working in a highly deadline-sensitive environment, working with thoroughness, detail and accuracy
  • Commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
