Communications and Digital Manager, ROH Bridge (Maternity cover)


£26,240 per annum, 32 hours per week

12-month maternity cover from August 2021 until 31 August 2022.

ROH Bridge acts as a broker to galvanize and facilitate the building of sustainable cultural education partnerships across Essex, Hertfordshire, Bedfordshire, Luton and the Thames Gateway. We co-invest in strategic activity that helps build a sustainable infrastructure for cultural learning. We measure our success through the increased number of children and young people who are engaging with creative and cultural learning experiences both in and out of school.

We are looking for a talented and imaginative Communications and Digital Manager to take on a maternity cover contract, to communicate and promote Bridge activities and the value of creative and cultural learning within the national Bridge network, Education and Cultural sectors.


The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with experience of communicating effectively with a range of stakeholders in a range of settings and media.
  • Knowledge of the current arts and cultural education and youth arts context.
  • Experience of the creative use of digital platforms as a communication tool.
  • Demonstrable experience of managing the production of print including proven ability to summarise complex information for a range of users, producing strong and influential narratives.
  • Demonstrable experience of strategic planning.
  • Excellent computer skills (including Microsoft Office, Adobe Creative Cloud, Mailchimp, etc.) and experience of managing Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems.


In response to the pandemic, a more flexible approach to office working is being adopted. Whilst virtual working could continue over the next year, this role will include a requirement for some work at the Royal Opera House Learning and Participation office at the High House Production Park in Purfleet and occasional work at Covent Garden.
