Applications Support Analyst

The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance live on stage at our heritage theatre site herein Covent Garden, and reaching out to audiences across the UK and worldwide with our cinema screenings and digital content. Working as part of the Technology Services and Infrastructure team, the Applications team provides an essential service across the ROH Group to both staff and customers, managing applications and databases from enterprise systems to ticketing.

We are now looking for an Applications Support Analyst to join the Applications team to provide third line support on the management, maintenance and administration of our applications and databases across the ROH Group. This is a varied role and provides the opportunity to develop your skills through working on maintenance, security, upgrades and the deployment of new solutions, in order to ensure high availability of database systems and efficiency through automation and integration of services. The team upholds a strong team ethic and values information flow, skill development, continuous learning and continuous improvement.

The ideal candidate will be a team player with these qualities:

- Knowledge and understanding of Microsoft SQL Server (ideally 2016 or later) and experience of third line support

- Understanding of the following technologies or ability to learn:

  • Database systems - MySQL, ProgreSQL
  • AWS - EC2, Cloudwatch, CloudFront, SES, Elastic Cloud, DynamoDB
  • Application Software APIs i.e. REST
- ITIL Foundation or ability to become qualified ITIL practitioner

- Able to deal effectively with people at all levels and maintain positive relations with all user groups

- Commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
