The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. Known as one of the busiest repertory theatres in the world, we have reopened and are now welcoming our audiences and supporters back to our iconic theatre in Covent Garden.

The Finance Department is now looking for a Finance Assistant to support the effective and smooth running of the finance function working on purchase ledger, sales ledger, credit control, banking and other areas. Reporting to the Finance Manager, this role works as part of a small team and interacts with a wide range of people including external suppliers. This is a good opportunity if you are looking to build on your knowledge and experience of finance processes and develop your career further in Finance.


The successful candidate will be an experienced team player, with:

  • Some experience and understanding of finance processes in areas such as Purchase Ledger, Sales Ledger, Credit Card processing and controls and the ability to learn new systems and procedures
  • Numeracy and a high standard of written and verbal English
  • Ability to perform statement reconciliations to the General Ledger
  • Proficient MS Office user, with good experience of Excel and Word and the ability to learn new systems and finance processes to become fully operational in a short space of time
  • Good track record in delivering accurate, high quality work and reporting to deadlines and to required standards
  • Ability to work to and support a culture of continuous improvement
