The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings.


We are now looking for an interim appointment as Strategic Planning Business Partner to deliver a strategy project for our Learning and Participation department. Working as part of the Audiences and Media team, you will scope, define and deliver the strategic plan and marketing strategy for Learning and Participation National Programmes, working to a set timeline over the coming weeks and months. Successful partnership working and consultation with key stakeholders and budget holders will be as important as drawing on your expertise in business and marketing strategy to deliver high quality work and strategic insight to inform management decision-making. The work is offered as a short term contract on an employed basis, and expected to last 4 to 6 months in total.


The successful candidate will demonstrate these key skills and a collaborative approach:

  • Senior level experience in business strategy and marketing strategy development, working in partnership with clients or senior stakeholders
  • Extensive experience of working with research and analytical tools to provide relevant data and analysis and strategic insight
  • Ability to develop a marketing communications strategy, across multiple channels, able to target different customer segments effectively
  • Strong report preparation and presentation skills and ability to estimate budget and resource requirements, able to deliver accurate, high quality work and outputs to deadlines and to required standards
  • Ability to understand the needs of multiple stakeholders and gain a consensus on key priorities
  • Ability to work to and support a culture of continuous improvement
