The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings. The work of our Audiences and Media team focusses on growing the love, advocacy and demand for the art presented by the Royal Opera House and seeks to grow our audience-generated revenues.


We are now looking for a Junior Developer to join the Digital Products team, within our Audiences and Media department. The Digital Products team operates as a multi-disciplinary team working to agile processes for rapid, high-quality development of digital products that will provide a great user experience. This is an ideal opportunity if you are looking to take your career forward as a Junior Developer, and keen to work to best practice processes and with some of the latest tools and software. The role is offered on a permanent basis.


The ideal candidate will be an experienced team player able to demonstrate:

  • Ability to learn to design and develop high quality software (server-side and client-side) for the Royal Opera House website and other digital platforms
  • Ability to gain good working knowledge for a range of modern software development tools, methods and architecture
  • Ability to learn and become proficient with modern JavaScript, Node.js and common JavaScript libraries like React, Vue.js or Angular
  • Ability to work to set priorities as part of a project team
  • Good written English and oral communication skills and ability and experience to create reliable and concise documentation
  • Commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
