Home to two of the world`s great artistic companies - The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet, the Royal Opera House aims to enrich people`s lives through opera and ballet.

We are seeking an experienced Wig & Make Up Technician to join our busy team on a permanent basis. The work involves wig making and styling; hair cutting and styling; make up and special effects for all theatrical, media and television productions of the Royal Opera House.

The ideal candidate will be a team player who can demonstrate:

  • A proven track record in performance related Wig and Make-up work for major companies.
  • A background in wig and make-up preparation techniques including the ability to make wigs and facials.
  • Experience in running performances and providing excellent levels of customer care for professional theatre, presenting Ballet or Opera an advantage.
  • Creativity, efficiency and flair in interpreting the designer`s brief.
  • Excellent communication skills in dealing with artists and people at all levels.
  • Ability to work effectively either independently or in a team and collaborating closely with colleagues to achieve deadlines and targets.
