Day Rate: £120

The Royal Opera House aims to enrich people`s lives through opera and ballet. It seeks to be accessible and engaging, to develop audiences across the UK and to break new ground in the presentation of lyric theatre. Learning and Participation (L&P) is central to ROH`s mission, playing a vital role in building and diversifying the future of ballet and opera. The programme aims to inspire creativity and widen access to our art forms.

We animate our public spaces with our Daytime Events and Open Up programme which consists of weekly workshops, informal performances and events for early years, families, schools, young people, adult learners, community groups and general visitors as well as festivals at key points in the year. Events may take place at the weekends as well as during the week.

The Learning & Participation department maintains a list of individuals who may be offered work on these events, on a casual basis. We are seeking to expand that list by adding event casuals to support the Learning & Participation team by setting up materials and event spaces, engage with activities and act as representatives of the department and the Royal Opera House.

We welcome applications from people with an interest in the arts and an enthusiasm about working with families and young children. Experience working on events is essential. Inclusion on the list of Learning & Participation Department casuals is no guarantee that work will be offered, and individuals are at liberty to decline any offers of work which are made.

All of our staff are expected to uphold the Royal Opera House values: respect, openness and valuing the highest standards.

The Royal Opera House is committed to creating a diverse and inclusive environment in which everyone can thrive. We welcome applications from those who are currently under-represented in our workforce, in particular those who are ethnically diverse and/or disabled. As a Disability Confident Employer, we guarantee to interview all disabled applicants who meet the essential minimum criteria for our vacancies.

Interviews will be held in August in readiness for when our Season starts in September.

To apply please send your cv and a brief cover letter detailing your relevant events experience and why you`d like to work with us to HR.Recruitment@roh.org.uk.

Please note that if you are already a member of the L&P Events Casual list you do not need to reapply.

Closing date for applications: 8am, Monday 8th August 2022

Interviews will take place from 5.00pm on Friday 19th August 2022

Applicants must have work authorisation for the UK and be over 18. No agencies
