The Royal Ballet, one of the leading classical ballet companies in the world, are now seeking to appoint a Clinical Lead within the Healthcare team. The Clinical Lead will provide clinical leadership for the treatment and rehabilitation programmes of dancers of the Royal Ballet working across all functional areas.


Reporting to the Clinical Director, the Clinical Lead will be an active clinician available to provide physiotherapy treatment and care for the dancers of The Royal Ballet to the highest professional standards. They will deputise for the Clinical Director in their absence and assist the Director with the execution daily clinical operations, to provide a reliable, high quality service and support the performance needs of the dancers and the longevity of their careers.


The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate these essential qualities:

  • Professional qualifications including registration with HCPC and CSP, and substantial professional practice in musculoskeletal physiotherapy with evidence of comprehensive working in an elite performance environment in dance/sport
  • Proven rehabilitation competency in dance and/or sport with the ability to lead and implement rehabilitation pathways across a number of disciplines within a Multi-Disciplinary Team.
  • Ability to seek out innovative `best-practice` and synthesise this into healthcare delivery to optimise outcomes.
  • Have completed a relevant MSc or other comparative qualification.
  • Credibility with patients and management as a trusted senior practitioner and advisor.
  • Presentation and communication skills to motivate behavioural change and bring about a positive impact on performance.
