Technology Project Manager


One-year fixed term contract (September 2022- August 2023)

c. £45,000 p.a.


The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance live on stage at our heritage theatre site here in Covent Garden and reaching out to audiences across the UK and worldwide with our cinema screenings and digital content. This would not be possible without our two additional sites in Purfleet (our purpose-built production workshop) and Aberdare (our logistics and storage facility).


Our Technology Services and Infrastructure team service a broad range of requirements across all departments of the organisation and a number of business-critical systems. Working as a bridge between Technology Services and the Technical, Production and Costume Department, you will be focused on the delivery of some critical projects aligned with the ROH long term technology strategy.


The Technical Asset Management Project is looking to transform our Warehouse logistics processes between Covent Garden, Aberdare, and Purfleet in Thurrock. This is a significant element in the management of all technical, production and costume assets across all Royal Opera House sites, supporting the production process and enabling efficiencies and compliance.


The ideal candidate will be a team player who can demonstrate:

  • A current project management certification - Prince 2 practitioner, Agile Project Management or equivalent
  • Proficiency with Jira Project Management Software, Microsoft Project or Microsoft Project online, and MS Office suite, including Excel, Word, Outlook and Office 365
  • Understanding and/or hands-on experience in technologies projects
  • Understanding and/or hands-on experience in barcoding & warehouse systems
  • Strong awareness of technology trends and best practice
  • Experience of business change management and delivering positive change through critical thinking and problem solving

Being Lean SIX Sigma qualified (Yellow Belt or Higher) and understanding and/or experience of the Theatrical Technical Production Build Process will be highly regarded.
