Executive Assistant to the Director of Finance


Permanent contract

Full time: 40 hours per week (4 days may be considered)

£30,000 - £34,000 per annum (pro rata for 4 days)


The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings.

The Finance Department is now looking for an Executive Assistant (EA) to the Director of Finance to provide effective and proactive EA and administrative support. In this role you will be working across multiple departments and teams and liaising with related stakeholders and suppliers.

This is a good opportunity if you already have experience as an EA at a senior level and are looking to develop your own areas of responsibility, as the role includes acting as insurance and claims coordinator. This role will suit a proactive and driven team player who can evidence the following:

  • Significant senior EA experience in an executive office, ideally within a large organisation, and experience of complex diary management
  • The ability to work at a senior level, dealing effectively with Executive level matters and understanding the needs and priorities of the Director
  • Good judgement and ability to request information when needed; able to take responsibility and make informed decisions under pressure
  • Strong numeracy skills and the ability to work accurately with data entry and checking figures
  • Ability to deliver a highly professional and efficient service with consistent high level of responsiveness and customer care, coupled with tact and diplomacy
  • The motivation and commitment to work both individually and/or as part of a team, showing a high degree of proactivity, responsiveness, and flexibility
