Welcome Host volunteers provide excellent customer service and help ensure that every visitor knows who we are, what we offer, and how to get involved.

Informal selection meeting dates/times (20 minute slots, online):

• Monday 10 June 2024 - 12:00-16:00
• Tuesday 11 June 2024 - 15:30-19:30
• Wednesday 12 June 2024 - 12:00-16:00
• Thursday 13 June 2024 - 15:30-19:30

New volunteer induction day:

Sunday 23 June 2024, 10:00-16:30 in person at ROH Covent Garden

Welcome Hosts support our work by...

• Welcoming and greeting visitors
• Sharing information and answering questions
• Giving directions within the building and Covent Garden area
• Accompanying tour groups to ensure they stay together during their visit
• Helping to manage queues and spaces at busy times
• Assisting Front of House staff in keeping everyone safe


• Schedule and commitment
  We are looking for volunteers who can contribute 2 to 4 sessions per month. Sessions last 1.5-4 hours and take place between 09:45-20:00, Monday to Sunday. You can browse and book volunteer sessions flexibly using our online scheduling app and website.

    Note:The minimum age requirement for this volunteer role is 18.

    Volunteer Support and Recognition

    As a volunteer you can:

  • Claim travel expenses (up to £13.50 a day) and refreshments up to £4 (if volunteering for more than 4 hours)
  • Enter ticket draws for rehearsals of Royal Ballet and Royal Opera performances
  • Enjoy free access to ROH Stream to learn about our work and repertoire
  • Go to volunteer social events and celebrations
