Assistant Chorus Manager


Permanent Contract

£29,000 per annum

Full time; 40 hours per week (including some evenings and weekends around the performance and rehearsal schedule)

The Royal Opera House produces the best opera and ballet in the world both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming to worldwide cinema screenings.

The role:

We are seeking to appoint an Assistant Chorus Manager to provide effective support to the Chorus Manager and Opera Company office, deputising in the Chorus Manager`s absence across a range of work, including administrative support for chorus members, extra chorus, actors and dancers, and ensuring the smooth running of all day-to-day Chorus activities.

What you`ll bring:

This role will suit a dynamic professional with strong administration experience who can be flexible, build rapport with people and bring a consistently high level of professionalism and responsiveness.

The ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate:

  • Understanding of the operational aspects and experience of supporting the work of a professional performing company, including singers, actors, dancers or an orchestral/theatrical ensemble.

  • Experience of running auditions for professional engagements.

  • Strong organisational and administrative skills with a systematic approach, ideally within a professional arts organization, with the capacity to manage and prioritise a busy workload.

  • A patient team player with the ability to use initiative and deal with people at all levels in a calm, confident and professional manner.

  • Strong oral and written English language skills with accuracy and attention to detail.
