Sound, Video and Broadcast Project Manager

Full time, fixed term contract until January 2026

Salary: £56,000 per annum

Based on site in Covent Garden, London


The Royal Opera House continues to lead the way in opera, ballet, music and dance both live on stage and through multiple digital platforms, from live streaming and social media to worldwide cinema screenings. Our Operations Department are responsible for a range of critical infrastructure projects, including those which will ensure our building is equipped to continue delivering word class productions from our home in Covent Garden. As part of this, the ROH has developed a major programme of work which brings together a range of energy and sustainability initiatives, infrastructure replacement works and upgrades, and refurbishment projects which will help to transform the working environment and technical capabilities across our estate.

We are now seeking to appoint a Project Manager to lead on the upgrade of our Sound, Video and Broadcast (SVB) equipment, systems and network. Working closely with the SVB team, you will capture the technical requirements for the project and translate this for a wider audience, ensuring a smooth, adequately resourced and well budgeted project with regular reporting to senior stakeholders.

Our ideal candidate will be a team player with strong communication skills who can translate complex information into accessible language. They will be able to demonstrate:

  • Proven project management and delivery experience of major infrastructure works including budget management.
  • In-depth understanding of power, controls and networks.
  • Experience in systems including entertainment controls, architectural systems and networking.
  • Ability to follow, draft & update schematics and diagrams.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Good understanding of CDM regulations and experience of contractor management.

A project management qualification is not essential but will be highly regarded, as will an understanding of/interest to learn about a busy repertory house schedule.
