How to Apply

We have designed our job application process to be as quick and as easy as possible. We will only accept applications made using our online application form, unless otherwise instructed on the job advert. Instructions about how to apply for a position are detailed against each job vacancy listed.

Unfortunately we are not able to accept, or generally respond to, speculative applications. Given the broad range of job opportunities that we have available, if you are interested in a career at the Royal Opera House, please check the list of current vacancies and apply for a specific position suited to your skills. You must have authorisation to work in the UK.

Equality and Diversity

The Royal Opera House strives to attract and appoint top talent across all roles, to support our development as a leader in the Performance Arts and contemporary British culture. Equality and diversity are intrinsic to our artistic vision and essential for the future of our art forms.

We treat all staff with dignity and respect and are committed to providing a harmonious working environment that offers equal treatment and equal opportunities for all our staff. We are committed to managing a fair and equitable recruitment and selection process to the highest industry standards, and actively seek to employ people currently under-represented in the workplace.

Stonewall

The Royal Opera House is a member of Stonewall's Diversity Champions programme - Britain's leading employers' forum on sexual orientation and gender identity, working to develop inclusive workplace cultures.

Positive about disabled people

The Two Ticks Disability Symbol is given to employers in recognition of those who have agreed to take action to meet five commitments regarding the employment, retention, training and career development of disabled employees.

These commitments ensure that disabled people are supported by employers and are treated fairly at every stage of their selection and employment.

The Five Commitments:

  • To interview all applicants with a disability who meet the minimum criteria for a job vacancy and to consider them on their abilities.
  • To ensure there is a mechanism in place to discuss with disabled employees at any time, but at least once a year, what both employer and disabled employees can do to make sure disabled employees can use and develop their abilities.
  • To make every effort when employees become disabled to make sure they stay in employment.
  • To take action to ensure that all employees develop the appropriate level of disability awareness needed to make the employer's commitments work.
  • To each year to review the five commitments and what has been achieved, to plan ways to improve on them and let employees and the Employment Service know about progress and future plans.
