Head of Technical: Linbury Theatre & Event Spaces

The Linbury Theatre will reopen as a world class venue for mid-scale opera and dance, reflecting the principles and values that we see on our main stage. Programmed by the Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet, the companies will produce work, encourage the development of artists and the art forms, as well as present productions by, and in collaboration with, other national and international opera and dance companies. The Theatre will also provide a platform for showcasing some of our learning and participation performance programme. Our public foyer spaces will be open to welcome visitors throughout the day, and will be enlivened with a broad programme of both public and private events - from bandstand performances to tea dances, gala dinners and conferences.

In advance of the re-opening we are seeking to appoint to the new role of Head of Linbury and Events. The postholder will be responsible for the production and management values, the processes, systems and delivery of all technical and production aspects of the ROH`s work, in the Linbury, event spaces and all outside locations and to deliver this, safely and effectively, within agreed resources and budgets.

Our ideal candidate will have:

  • The ability to operate successfully at a senior level and act as an ambassador for the Technical and Production departments internally and externally;
  • A proven experience of managing a complex operation and of leading multiple teams;
  • A proven track record in technical management with a producing venue or organisation;
  • Excellent technical skills with a thorough understanding of current equipment and systems across all the main areas of technical theatre; and
  • Strong awareness of and adherence to Health and Safety policy and best practice.
