Planning Coordinator

Fixed Term Contract - 8 months

The Royal Opera House, home to the Royal Opera, the Royal Ballet and the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House, is one of the most prolific performing arts venues in the world. Each season we present over 300 performances of Opera and Ballet on our `main stage`, around 200 performances in our Linbury Theatre and performances delivered in partnership at other venues around the UK. In addition, our Learning and Participation team host a year-round programme of public performances, events and exhibitions both in Covent Garden and at our site in Thurrock and we deliver over 150 private events throughout our Covent Garden building. Since completion of the Open Up project in September this year, we have opened our doors to an even wider group of people to experience what the Royal Opera House has to offer.

The Planning Team at the Royal Opera House plays a critical role in enabling and realising the ambitions of the Artistic Leadership. We now looking to recruit a Planning Coordinator to join the team on a fixed term basis for 8 months. Reporting to the Head of Planning, you will support the team in the administration and systems management needed to deliver the planning and scheduling services to the organisation. This role will allow you to develop your skills and gain a good understanding of the range of operational requirements in planning for a performing arts organisation.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, able to demonstrate these qualities:

-Sufficient administration experience in a busy office, in an arts or performing arts organisation

-Good judgment and able to request information when needed

-Very competent Microsoft Office user including Word, Excel and PowerPoint, familiarity with databases, Visio and business planning tools

-Ability to learn about new procedures and become operational in a short period of time

-Professional and confident manner and ability to consult effectively as required

-Commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
