Home to two of the world`s great artistic companies - The Royal Opera and The Royal Ballet, performing with the Orchestra of the Royal Opera House - the organisation seeks to be accessible and engaging, to develop audiences across the UK and to break new ground in the presentation of lyric theatre.

The Royal Ballet is seeking to appoint an experienced Benesh Choreologist on a fixed term contract as a maternity cover for 10 - 12 months from March 2019. Working as part of a small team, you will undertake notation and related work, for new and existing works in the repertoire, working to the department standards and methods. The role also works closely with the choreographer during rehearsals to capture notation for new works and may also work on reconstruction of repertoire. All work undertaken will be completed to required standards for documentation and cataloguing.

The successful candidate must be able to demonstrate these essential qualities:

-A high level of skill and relevant qualification as a Benesh Choreologist

-A proven track record in working with a ballet company as a Benesh Choreologist, to the highest standards

-Ability to work effectively with artistic staff and artists throughout the cycle of rehearsal and performance to ensure completion of notated works

-Ability to promote effective teamwork, trust and harmonious working relationships at all levels

-Effective planning, preparation and time management skills, and able to be available as needed for scheduled rehearsals and calls

-Commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
