Human Resources and Training Administrator

£23,000 per annum, full-time (40 hours per week)

Permanent contract, from 23rd September 2019

As the home to The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera, at the Royal Opera House we want many more people to enjoy and engage in exceptional ballet and opera. We have a diverse team of over one thousand employees - working in artistic, technical, craft, administrative and customer service roles - and are now looking for a Human Resources and Training Administrator to join our busy team.

This varied role provides proactive administrative and logistical support to our training and work experience programmes, as well as to ongoing recruitment and other HR activities. The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Being the first point of contact with the other HR Administrators for enquiries and providing excellent customer service by phone, face-to-face or by email.
  • Providing practical support to staff training (arranging dates, booking rooms, scheduling attendees, booking refreshments, issuing joining instructions, liaising with and supporting training providers, arranging technical equipment, etc.).
  • Supporting our year-round work experience programme, responding to applicant enquiries and administering the recruitment process.
  • Recruitment administration (arranging interviews, drafting offer letters and contracts, documentation checks, liaison with payroll, induction administration, etc.).

  • Experience of HR administration in a busy environment, including recruitment support, and an interest in developing a career in Human Resources.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation.
  • Strong communication skills with a high standard of verbal and written English.
  • Experience of prioritising a busy workload, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail.
