The Royal Opera House aims to enrich people`s lives through opera and ballet. As a charity, we could not maintain our reputation, the range of our work, or our digital presence, without the support of our business partners, sponsors, philanthropists and members. Following the Open Up project, completed in 2018, we are now open daily with a wide programme of events, for even more people to experience what the Royal Opera House has to offer. This represents an exciting opportunity to welcome many more people to our heritage site in Covent Garden.

The Development and Enterprises Department is looking for a Sales and Marketing Manager to promote venue hire and deliver sales. Reporting to the Head of Events and Head of Enterprises, the role supports the work of both these teams. In this role, you will lead the sales and marketing activities and deliver an annual marketing plan, designed to meet the targets for venue hire and the business development objectives for both teams. You will research new business opportunities and work proactively through each stage of the sales and marketing process. If you enjoy sales, and building a portfolio of business, with direct client contact, but also want to have a more strategic overview, this role offers both, and you will have responsibility for regular reporting and tracking performance to plan.

The ideal candidate will be a team player, able to demonstrate these qualities:

-Relevant experience in sales and marketing for events or venue hire, working directly with clients, including managing the sales process end to end

-Advanced relationship building skills and ability to provide continuity in managing client relationships

-Accomplished writing skills including proposals and reports to the highest professional standards; numerate and highly proficient MS Office user

-Ability to gain an excellent understanding of the venue hire offering in order to become operational in the role within a short timeframe

-Ability to research and target new industry sectors to develop new business

-Commitment to managing own learning and continuous professional development relevant to the role
