HR Administrator


£23,000 per annum, full-time (40 hours per week)
Permanent contract

As the home to The Royal Ballet and The Royal Opera, at the Royal Opera House we want many more people to enjoy and engage in exceptional ballet and opera. We have a diverse team of over one thousand employees - working in artistic, technical, craft, administrative and customer service roles - and are now looking for a new Human Resources Administrator to join our busy team.

This varied role provides proactive administrative and logistical support across all our HR activities. The responsibilities of the role include:

  • Being the first point of contact with the other HR Administrators for enquiries and providing excellent customer service by phone, face-to-face or by email.
  • Recruitment administration (arranging interviews, drafting letters and contracts, documentation checks, liaison with payroll, induction administration, etc.).
  • Administering new starter and leaver procedures, working with line managers to ensure the completion and processing of all necessary paperwork.
  • Supporting the drafting and preparation of change of conditions documentation and liaising with Payroll on the administration of all changes to pay.
  • Developing and maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of key HR processes and policies, in order to handle standard enquiries.

  • Experience of HR administration in a busy environment, including recruitment support, and an interest in developing a career in Human Resources.
  • Strong organisational and administrative skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to work effectively with a wide range of people within and outside the organisation.
  • Strong communication skills with a high standard of verbal and written English.
  • Experience of prioritising a busy workload, ensuring deadlines are met.
  • Accuracy and good attention to detail.
