The Orchestra of the Royal Opera House is seeking to appoint to the position of:

Principal 2nd Violin (no.3, sitting no.2)

We invite applications from outstanding players with considerable recent relevant professional experience. The successful candidate will be a musician of the highest calibre who is self-motivated, reliable and versatile with the ability to work under pressure as part of an established team.

We intend to hold screened first round auditions in London on 24th, 26th and 27th June 2022.


First round audition requirements will be:

1.A Mozart Violin Concerto - First Movement Exposition (No cadenza)

2.Orchestral excerpts only as per enclosed PDF

We intend to hold second round auditions on 15th July 2022.


Second round audition requirements will be:

1.A Mozart Violin Concerto - First Movement Exposition (with cadenza)

2.1st movement of a romantic/20th century Concerto

3.Orchestral excerpts only as per enclosed PDF


The closing date for applications is: 5pm, Tuesday 7th June.
